Garage Doors

The following standards pertain to the replacement of all garage doors.

  • For standards specifically pertaining to the installation of garage doors which change the overall color scheme of the residence, please refer to the section on exterior color changes.
  • The architectural design, character, and size of the proposed garage doors will be harmonious and consistent with the design and character of the existing house, adjacent houses and structures.
  • Beveled glass features are permitted.
  • Garage doors must be made of wood, fiberglass, or metal.
  • Garage doors with stained glass features are prohibited.

Application Procedures

Application is not required for replacement Garage Doors that are the exact style and
color as the replaced garage doors. All other garage door replacements will require
an application. In addition to the basic application requirements, applications for
garage doors must include:

  • A picture if the proposed new garage door that show window styles (if any), and
    other features (e.g. handles, trim).
  • Barn door style door will be reviewed on a case-by case basis.
  • Photograph of existing garage door.
