New to the Neighborhood

Welcome to Virginia Run! We are glad that you decided to join our community. Virginia Run and the surrounding area has much to offer. Your first step is to review this website to learn more about the community and register yourself so we can keep you posted on activities in the neighborhood and other items of interest.

Government

If you are not familiar with Fairfax County, please visit the Fairfax County Government newcomer’s website. You will learn about required paperwork, license requirements for pets and businesses and to register your vehicle, if necessary.

Also, visit the Commonwealth of Virginia government website to learn about resident requirements if you are not knowledgeable about Virginia.

Transportation

One of the most challenging issues in the region is transportation and traffic. Awareness of traffic, road construction, and commuting options are critical. Visit the Virginia Department of Transportation Northern Virginia web page for information.

Shopping

There is no lack of options when it comes to shopping and restaurants in the area. The biggest challenge is picking a place to eat, the variety is extensive.

The closest grocery store and shopping center to Virginia Run are located on Stone Road. There are two large shopping malls within a short drive of the community, Fair Oaks Mall (15 minutes) and Dulles Town Center (20 to 25 minutes). Substantial shopping, restaurant, and personal services (e.g, barbershop, hairstylists, package shipping) businesses can be found near the intersection of Route 29 and Route 28.

There are some nice shopping, eating, and movie venues that offer outside entertainment during the summer that are also within a short drive, Fairfax Corner (15 minutes) and Reston Town Center (20 to 25 minutes).
