Heard Family Fundraiser - The Great Zucchini

On Friday, October 9th, Washington’s funniest and most magical children’s entertainer, The Great Zucchini will perform a colorful magic show at the Virginia Run Community Center.  This show will benefit The Heard Family who in June gave birth to twin boys at the gestational age of 24 weeks this summer.  Here is their story:

On Wednesday, June 17th Centreville Family (Heard) gave birth to twin boys at the gestational age of 24 weeks.  The mother was rushed to Fairfax Hospital and 12 hours later both babies were born via an emergency cesarean. The first baby (Dalton) was 1.2 lbs and the other baby (Cody) was 1.6 lbs. Unfortunately 3 days later, baby Dalton passed away from kidney failure while Cody- now 13 weeks old and 4.1 lbs still has a long road ahead. The family has been receiving numerous medical bills which are piling up and many more are expected as the hopeful discharge date for baby Cody later this fall when he is strong enough to leave the hospital.
